What Causes Hemorrhoids?

There are many situations in our body that may lead to Hemorrhoids or Piles. As we are all aware, disease in the body happens when the immune system is weakened for some reason. It could be a viral infection or it could be a poor diet. Whatever the reason, it’s similar to a car that is full of fuel, but refuses to move. The fuel injection system is messed up. Only a tune-up can remedy that.

What is the MAJOR reason for Hemorrhoids?

The major reason for the creation of Hemorrhoids is the buildup of toxins in our body. This is the situation when the daily movement of stools gets blocked. Our stools are the byproducts of our digestive system and they consist of undigested food, by products of digestion, hormones, fiber from our foods and other wastes such as toxins. As we eat more and more processed food, the body tries to eliminate the additives, preservatives, colorings, artificial sweeteners, pesticides, herbicides, etc. When these items that are “foreign” to the body does not respond to the usual move and push urges of the intestines, they get trapped in the folds of the intestine and start to decay and ferment.

When we get the urge to defecate, go to the bathroom and sit down, although there is pressure and some pain, nothing is passed through the anus. Imagine the frustration when you are in a hurry to go to work and you cannot get your stools through the rectum or anus and out into the commode!

In this situation, we start to strain and force the sticky, dry, decaying stools out by pushing hard on them with our buttock muscles. However, when the body’s smooth movement of stools is restricted, pushing and straining only hurts the walls of the rectum and anus even more. As our butt muscles (sphincter muscles) contract and relax, the blood vessels (veins) in the anus area fill with blood to help the stools move along from the rectal canal to the anus and out. When the stools refuse to move, the blood vessels are affected and they get inflamed. This inflammation leads to the creation of hemorrhoids at that site.

What are the other reasons for Hemorrhoids?

Hormonal changes may alter the sensitivity of organs and the efficiency of the human body. When women get pregnant, for instance, their hormones are fluctuating so much that many of the body’s functions go haywire. The body settles after a while but while the hormones are varying, conditions such as hemorrhoids may surface. When the baby grows large and pushes on the pelvic organs, hemorrhoids can surface on the mother’s body.

Another reason why people get hemorrhoids easily is obesity. Again, the body’s space is being invaded not by a baby, but by fat deposits in the abdomen.

Some medications may cause constipation and so does some items such as processed foods that rob moisture from our body and make our stools dry and sticky.

As you can see, there are several reasons for the growth or hemorrhoids in our body. With a good diet, lots of pure water and enough exercise, we may be able to avoid this problem forever.
