How Long Do Hemorrhoids Last?

You are going along enjoying life with your friends and family and one day, suddenly, boom, it hits you; you have hemorrhoids! Now what do you do? You can do something about it, or ignore it. If you take care of your hemorrhoids before they become infected, you may hopefully never see another one again. However, if you ignore the hemorrhoid and just wish it goes away, you may easily have enabled something that will stick around your life like a sore thumb for a long time.

What do we do when we find out that we have hemorrhoids?

Gather your defense team together. The body is under attack! So do you just stand there and watch it go downhill or do you plan a counter attack? For most of us, dealing with any bad news triggers a curiosity about the problem and finding means to get rid of it ASAP.

So how long does the hemorrhoid stick around?

If you take precautions and use all your defenses against this attack on the body, you will probably get rid of this pesky problem in a couple of weeks at the earliest. If you do not address it and try to put it out of your mind pretending/wishing that it will go away, (you have news) it may never go away.

So what do we do when we find that we have hemorrhoids?

Read all about it! Yes, find good information online and follow the instructions even if it means that you have to make some drastic changes in your life. Seeing a hemorrhoid is like seeing a roach running through your kitchen. Ugh, you know that unless you get rid of the entire brood, they will multiply and take over the house. Okay, hemorrhoids may not be that drastic, but it is a good idea to take care of it so that you won’t have to see it again.

Hemorrhoids are simple to take care of. First thing we need to do is to change our diet to include more fiber. Drink lots of water, at least 6-8 glasses of pure water, no coffee, no cola and no milkshakes. Just pure spring water.
Next get some psyllium from the supermarket. This is mixed in water and the whole thing is taken orally every day with food. This is natural fiber and it may help you avoid constipation.

If you lift heavy items for a living, you may need to take a rest or find another job. Lifting, straining and pushing can all lead to hemorrhoids.

If you have a sit down job where you are in front of a screen for hours, you will have to get up every hour and walk for at least five minutes. It is also beneficial to go on long walks after dinner or early in the morning. This stimulates the circulation and eases the movement of stools in the morning.

Enjoy about 10 minutes every day sitting in a warm bath. After the bath, apply petroleum jelly all around the anus and also push it into the rectum for a smooth bowel movement the next day. Do not push or strain when it is time for a bowel movement and apply more petroleum jelly into the rectum just before the bowel movement if necessary.

By allowing the bowel movements to happen naturally and smoothly, we allow the body to heal and remove the conditions that exist which encourage the growth of hemorrhoids.
